4.通过学习课文能了解有关澳大利亚的知识。

5.通过学习本课,学生能根据思维导图写文章介绍澳大利亚。

6.帮助学生初步形成了解其他国家,了解世界的意识。

教学过程

Step 1 Warming up

1. Greetings.

T: Good morning,boys and girls.   

Ss: Good morning, Miss Jin.

T: How are you?                    

Ss: Fine, thank you.

2. Free talk

T: What is the date today?

Ss: It’s the 13th of April.

T: What holiday is coming?

T: May Day is coming. What are you going to do for May Day?

S1: I’m going to go shopping/ have a picnic /fly a kite / visit my grandparents.

T: I’m going to travel. I will go to different countries. (将要,will)

Step 2 Pre-reading

3.Guess, what country is it?

  T: Look,what country is it? You’ll find...in...

1) It’s the US.You’ll find White House in the US.

2) It’s China. You’ll find the Great Wall in China.

3) It’s UK. You’ll find Big Ben in the UK.

4) It’s Australia. You’ll find Sydney Opera House in Australia.  

4.Watch a movie.

T:There's nothing like Australia.Here's a video. Let’s enjoy.

内容:It's a big country in the south part(南部) of the Earth. It has many interesting animals. It also has blue seasclean beaches(海滩)、 many nice parks and other beautiful views(风景). People there speak English. People drive on the left side of the road.

T: Today we’ll learn Unit 6 An interesting country-- Australia. (揭题)

 

Step 3 While-reading

1.Listen and say

T:Our friend will are talking about Australia.Look,who are they?

Mike, Liu Tao, Wang Bing, Yang Ling.(板贴)

What will they do next week? Let’s listen and repeat.

2.Lets watch and say.  (看左部分卡通)

T:How will they find out about Australia before the lessons?

T:Before the lessons, What will Mike/Liu Tao/Wang Bing/Yang Ling do to find out some information about Australia? Mike says...

Mike: Ill ask my e-friend in Australia.

Wang Bing: Ill ask Mr Green.

Liu Tao: Ill read about Australia on the Internet.

Yang Ling: Ill go to the library.(板书)

T: If we want to find out something,what can we do?

S:We can: ask sb. for help,surf the Internet, read books and magazines (Method).(板贴)

3.Practice

T:The children will use different methods to learn about Australia. Now, let’s do some exercise on P60.(校对习题)

T:Now,do you think Australia is an interesting country? What do you know about the interesting country ?

4.Read and learn(右边课文)

Q1. How many aspects(方面)are mentioned in Story time? Four.

  Q2. What are they? Animals, sport, city and people. (板书)

5.Intensive reading 精读

a.Let’s read and underline animals of Australia.

T:You will find many interesting things in Australia.What animals will you like in Australia? 

You will love our kangaroos and koalas. (带读生词)

Here are two videos about kangaroos and koalas.

T:In these videos,the kangaroos are large and yellow. They can jump fast. The koalas are cute and small. It has no tail. Do you like them? What do you think of the animals?(板书:cute)  

b. Let’s read and underline the sport of Australia.

T:What sport will you like in Australia? 

Sport- lovers will like Australian football games. How is the game?(板书:exciting)

c. T: Let’s read and underline the city of Australia.

T:You will also like the city :Sydney. It is a beautiful city.(带读Sydney板书:beautiful)

T:Sydney is the biggest(最大的) city of Australia. Look, this is Sydney Opera House. This is the Sydney Bridge.

d. T: Let’s read and underline the people of Australia.

What do you think of the People in Australia

S: They are warm and friendly.(板书:warm  friendly)

6.Reading time

T:We have learned a lot about Australia. Lets read after the tape. Please pay attention to the intonation.

T:Well done.Now, work in pairs.Choose one way to read one part of the story.

a.Read in paragraphs.小组成员分段朗读。

b.Read together.小组齐读。

c.Read one sentence. 每人读一句。

d.Read by boys or girls.分男女生朗读。

7.Know more

T:Boys and girls,do you like Australia? Let's know more about it.Expect Sydney,Canberra is the capital of Australia. Melbourne is very famous,too.Its the second biggest city in Australia.

The weather here is warm and sunny. They are 516 parks for plants and animals.

T: We have learned a lot about Australia. Now, lets write to introduce Australia according to the mind map.
